Step 1: Choose Your Hosting Plan and Sign Up

The first step is selecting the right web hosting plan for your needs. Visit the SetraHost website to browse through our range of hosting options, including shared hosting and WordPress hosting. Once you've chosen a plan:

1. Click Get Started and follow the prompts to create your account.
2. If you’re signing up for an annual or longer plan, you’ll receive a free domain registration or transfer for the first year. Simply enter your desired domain name or the domain you're wanting to transfer during sign-up. 

Step 2: Transfer or Set Up Your Domain

After selecting your hosting plan, you’ll need to decide how to handle your domain:

• Transfer a Domain: Bring your existing domain to SetraHost by clicking "Transfer A Domain" during sign-up. You will need the EPP/Authorization code to transfer this. If you do not know how to find this, please reach out to us and we'd be happy to assist. If we're migrating your website for you, you can also leave this blank and we will take care of the domain transfer for you during the migration process.
• Register a New Domain: Choose a new domain name by clicking "Register A New Domain" during signup, and we’ll handle the setup for you.
• Keep Your Domain with Another Registrar: If you prefer, leave your domain with its current registrar and update its nameservers to point to our hosting servers. To do this, you'd choose "I already own a domain" at signup.

If you chose to keep your domain at your current registrar, you will need to update the nameservers to ours in order to point the domain to our servers. Your website with us will not be accessible until this is changed. Nameservers can be found in your account information email that is received after signup. If you need any help doing so, please let us know and we're happy to help!

Step 3: Access Your Client Area

The SetraHost Client Area is your hub for managing all aspects of your hosting service.

1. Log in using the credentials from your account information email.
2. Click View Details next to your hosting service to access shortcuts and essential information like your cPanel login, WordPress manager, and site builder.

Step 4: Migrating Your Website and Emails

If you’re transferring from another hosting provider, we offer a Free Website Migration service to make the process simple.

How to Request a Migration:

1. Log in to the SetraHost Client Area.
2. Submit a support ticket requesting a migration.
3. Include your current hosting provider’s control panel credentials (a temporary password is fine).

Important Notes:

• Avoid changing DNS/nameservers until the migration is complete to prevent downtime.
• Most migrations are completed the same day, often within an hour.

Step 5: Build Your Website

SetraHost offers multiple tools to build your website, catering to different skill levels:

Option 1: WordPress

WordPress is a powerful, user-friendly platform ideal for most websites.

1. Install WordPress:
   • Use the WordPress Manager in the Client Area to set up your site.
   • Follow the prompts to enter your site name, admin username, and password.
2. Access Your WordPress Dashboard:
   • Once installed, log in at yourdomain.com/wp-admin and start creating.

Option 2: Drag-and-Drop Site Builder

If you want a no-code solution, our Site Builder makes designing a professional website simple.

1. Access the Site Builder from the Client Area.
2. Choose from a variety of themes and customize them using the drag-and-drop interface.
3. Click Publish to make your site live.

Option 3: Advanced Options

For developers or users with specific needs:

• Upload custom files via cPanel’s File Manager or connect via FTP/SFTP.
• Install apps through Softaculous, including CMSs and e-commerce platforms.
• Deploy advanced technologies like Node.js apps.

Step 6: Additional Tips

• Free SSL Certificates: Every site hosted with SetraHost includes a free SSL certificate, automatically issued and renewed.
• Professional Email Addresses: Create custom email addresses matching your domain in cPanel.
• Explore Client Area Shortcuts: Use shortcuts like the Site Builder and WordPress Manager to simplify your workflow.
